What is EA?

The purpose of Evolving Athletes is to create and foster an interactive training experience that is strategically designed to build and develop a strong foundation of critical thinking and functional performance for Hockey Students based on four universal elements of leadership.

“CHANGE WITH A PURPOSE”

Every drill, word, thought, and action we use in our curriculum is designed to create positive change, leadership, and confidence in our Hockey Students through the four elements of success: HEALTH, CREATIVITY, EDUCATION, and most importantly CHARACTER. With a positive mindset and a confident attitude, anything is possible!!! This is something we believe in deeply as a team when it comes to the proper growth and progression of any young Hockey Student. Wanting change and feeling change are two different things, but together they are inseparable.

“It’s been 6 years since we had the idea of starting EA. I began playing high level hockey at 9 years old, and began serious hockey training at 10. Back then, it was mostly hockey schools, until I reached the age of 17. At that time, I decided to sign up for an elite level off-ice training program located in Massachusetts while playing juniors. That was it for me, the strength and conditioning world had me hooked!

After 20 years of experiencing and educating myself with some of the best trainers and programs in the world, I felt there was still something missing specifically for hockey students dry land training. It was the off season, and this was the time to really hone in on some specific elements of development. Each program offered something unique in its own right, but no program really offered the complete training package specifically designed with the hockey player in mind.

Don’t get me wrong, some of these programs offered me great results, but after training for so many years, I felt there was still something more to the essence of a hockey player, and what should be taught and addressed in their training and coaching. There are so many life skills and lessons taught in the midst of all the hockey chaos that hockey students should be aware of, so that they are prepared for anything life may throw their way.

There’s more to training education than just gaining on ice performance skill. The conscious decisions and actions you make daily is the key to building a long lasting foundation for success in life and sport. Preparing a plan with purpose to take on those decisions is where EA can help hockey players gain a deeper awareness of what the game offers, and can help them understand how to better maximize their training efforts.”
